Update: Jan – 2010

Friends-
I haven’t gone anywhere; I’ve just been taking a break from blogging and contemplating the direction I want to take things here. With the advent of Facebook and Twitter, I began to wonder if this format is outdated –and I think it is to some extent. Thus, I’m working on a few things here at Shepherdtheflock, a few things that will simplify things to match communication in 140 character (Twitter) world.
Lord-willing, I plan to resume posting, and posting regularly, by the end of this month. So stay tuned (and I see the comment section has been quite busy!).
Grace and peace~

Twitter’s okay, but how does one engage in a meaningful dialogue when limited to 140 characters? The medium is best used for idle chatter or brief (and critical) news to relate, based on what I’ve seen out of it.
Yep- you’re right, James.
But I think Twitter has demonstrated that we want our news/entertainment any information in short sound-bites rather than lengthy documentation. So in my case, I could find time to write one or two full length posts a week, or 4 or 5 short but concise posts instead. I think the latter is preferrable both for me and the type of readers who would benefit from my posts.
Thus, I think there will still be interaction, and probably more of it because information won’t be fully presented or documented. But it won’t be a place where reading a full post will take more than a minute (or less).
Also, being able to post/comment via my blackberry, rather than sitting in front of a computer, will also better contribute to the content here. You think?
