In one sense, then, the blessings of salvation and eternal life began when Christ comes back. We have not been saved so much for this temporary life, but for the life to come. Perhaps there are those who think that only because they live in a western culture that has had the seeds of the gospel planted firmly at it's beginning and that is the reason that we have not yet shed our own blood.
