Welcome to Shepherdtheflock.com
Apr 5th, 2007 by Nathan White
Welcome to my new site! Please take a moment and read the about page which describes in detail why this site exists.
Next, check out the resource page of Christian links, the full blogroll (ever-growing), soon to come book recommendations, MP3/podcast download section, and a few websites to help you find a Godly church in your area.
Simply put, and to paraphase from the about page:
- I will be the main contributor on this site, but this site is most certainly not about me.
- Peter’s last instructions from Christ were to tend the spiritual needs of others; it was this that Jesus pointed him to as an evidence of Godly love! So it is with this understanding that shepherdtheflock exists.
- Before obedience comes theology. Doctrine, -what we believe about Christ and His revealed word, underscores every aspect of our lives. This site exists to help promote sound theology leading to Godly knowledge. We seek to teach people pure theology about Christ so that they may indeed go out and live like Christ.
- This site does NOT displace the need to personally spread the gospel, and to disciple and minister to those in your local church. But, before action comes knowledge. Thus, this site is about equipping the saints to go out and ‘do likewise’.
There you have it, welcome to my new blog. I pray that you will indeed leave here edified in the knowledge of Christ.
“We are all starved for the glory of God, not self. No one goes to the Grand Canyon to increase self-esteem. Why do we go? Because there is greater healing for the soul in beholding splendor than there is in beholding self.” -John Piper, Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ
Nathan,
The place looks wonderful. I’m excited about the ministry the Lord will carry on through it! I very much look forward to the radio show!!
Wow…this site will be good. I can’t wait to hear you preaching via the podcasts!
BTW: My pastor (Bruce Ray) is writing a book on Revelation right now. He’s asked me to be a reader for the manuscript. When it comes out (being published by P&R) you should give it a read and see how things line up with your own views…
Take care, brother!
Mike, you’re still alive! Good to hear from you, brother.
Hey, if you could line me with an early copy, I’d love to read it and possibly post a review on it.

By the way, Mike, if your church is what I think it is (Juanita Community), then I’m sure your Pastor’s views on Revelation are very close to mine. (I did a little research on Bruce Ray).
Okay, Nate…I found you!! The site looks wonderful…again, I am so excited about these new opportunities to preach and share God’s truth!
I love you~
Mommmmmmmmm
nathan, when talking to muslims ask them how their sins are forgiven and not held against them. ask them what are the requirements for a person to go to heaven according to islam. ask them if muslim women can go to heaven and if they say they can, ask how. remember the story about a group of religious leaders that met togetherand each had an alloted time to speak of their religion. the last speaker was a christian and he spoke these words. “think of lady mcbeth after she had killed her lover wandering around the castle convicted of her sin. this was when she muttered those famous words” out damned spot.” which one of your religions can promise her freedom from her sins and entrance to heaven?”
Hi Nate,
Yup, that’s my church. He would describe himself as Post. I understand the differences between Disp. and Post-/A- but I haven’t yet put my finger on the differences between Post and A. I’ll get there eventually…all I need is the time to sit down and study this stuff!!!
Happy Easter - Resurrection Day!
Mike,
Post- and A- are very similar. There wouldn’t be any major disagreements. Where we would differ is in what happens before Christ comes back. Post- says that the world will become better and better and eventually ‘usher in’ the Millennium. A- says the opposite, that things will get worse and worse. Look out for your pastor’s dealing with this verse: “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
